Best Hours For Forex Trading

While, forex is a market that is constantly changing, there are still the best times and the worst times to trade. Prices can change quickly and the characteristics of the market allow traders to enter the market multiple times throughout the day and pull profits on many of these trades that are made.

For a more home-grown approach, take into consideration the following characteristics and how they affect the profits and prices throughout the day. Like many trading markets, Forex closes at 5 pm EST each day, but does run as a 24 hour market that runs from Sunday 5 pm EST to Friday 4 pm EST. Forex trading starts in New Zealand, then Australia, Asia, the Middle East, Europe and America. While, the major Forex trading markets are London, Tokyo and New York, the US and the UK make up 50% of the market transactions.

Also, take into consideration that two-thirds of the activity in New York take place in the morning while the European market is open. The heaviest trading period is when major markets are overlapped. If you are looking for a specific time frame when you can get the highest profits in the trades you need, you can find most of this out by reading online.

If you take all this into consideration when thinking of timing, you can rest assure that no matter what there is someone trading on the Forex market at any given time. There are overlaps and constant opening and closing of markets happening. Peak trading times occur when the Asian market (including New Zealand and Australia) are open at the same time as the European and US market. These are the hours you want to target in order to find the most profitable trades available.

Open market times look like this:
New York Market trade times: 8am-4pm EST
London Market trade times: 2am-12Noon EST
Great Britain Market trade times: 3am-11am EST
Tokyo Market trade times: 8pm-4am EST
Australia Market trade times: 7pm-3am EST

If you look carefully there are two overlapping times in the major markets, to find the greatest number of profitable trades you need to concentrate on these overlapping market times and find the trades you are looking for.
